This four-storey Victorian property had been painted over, concealing much of the original brickwork and architectural character that made the building special.
Years of paint coatings had hidden the natural brick texture, caused moisture retention issues, and gradually deteriorated the mortar joints beneath.
The solution
Following a detailed survey, the wider specialist team carried out a full restoration programme. Every stage was planned to preserve the original brickwork and help the building continue performing as intended for decades to come.
Work included paint-coating removal, refurbishment of more than 280 damaged bricks, full repointing, restoration of original brickwork details and careful finishing around the building's character.
Outcome
A property that had lost much of its original identity has been restored, revealing the Victorian craftsmanship that had been hidden for years. The brickwork is cleaner, sharper and properly protected without paint or render.
