Heritage Cottage Brick Tinting & Colour Matching

The challenge

A heritage cottage rarely has one uniform brick colour. Age, handmade materials, earlier repairs and weathering all create a varied finish that needs to be understood before matching begins.

Here, the task was to help repaired areas sit quietly within that variation while keeping the established texture and character of the brickwork visible.

The solution

The work was approached as colour matching rather than surface covering. Small, considered adjustments were used to soften contrast between the repair areas and the surrounding original bricks.

That careful approach respects the property as it is, avoiding an overly uniform finish that would feel out of place on a traditional elevation.

Outcome

The completed elevation has a more settled appearance, with the original brick character and period features remaining clear.
